Everyday Optics is an independent UK guide to binoculars, monoculars, spotting scopes and the accessories that make them more useful. We focus on wildlife, walking, travel, sport, astronomy and general observation rather than rifle scopes or tactical equipment.

Our approach

We compare documented specifications, reliable primary sources and current product information. We explain who each option suits and where its limitations matter. A maker’s specification is not treated as proof of image quality, and fit-sensitive details such as eye relief are presented as shortlist information rather than guarantees.
