The Nature DX and Nature DX ED names make this look like a simple “good versus better” question. It is more precise to ask whether you need ED objective glass while keeping the rest of the 8×42 viewing geometry largely unchanged. Both are useful garden and general birdwatching formats; neither is a guaranteed fit for every viewer.
